Pilates

"I have been going to the Pilates Body for several months now. I have suffered with neck and shoulder pain for years and was unable to get better. With the personal instruction, I have been able to gain strength and flexibility and I am able to do a lot more. I used to get sore from driving or cleaning and now I am much better and able to do so much more each day. The instructors are highly skilled, conscientious and caring. I look forward to every session . Pilates is a great, feel good way to a better, leaner and most importantly, healthier body. I highly recommend this studio and every single instructor."

What does the Pilates Body offer?

We offer private, semi-private, group equipment, mat sessions, yoga, and massage at our McMurray location. As a client, you will utilize the full range of pilates equipment, including the Cadillac, reformer, chair, barrel, and spine corrector, as well as various props such as stability balls, magic circles, thera-bands, foam rollers and hand weights.

Our Shadyside location is designed for the private or duet client. We have the full range of pilates equipment plus a full bath and dressing room so you can hit the shops on Walnut when you're done.

Whether you're new to pilates or a seasoned pro, we'll give you a level-appropriate, customized workout that will have you feeling immediate results.

How do I get started?

Call us at 724-941-2411 to schedule a private lesson, semi-private lesson, or to sign up for a class at our McMurray location. Call 412-728-4152 to arrange a private or duet appointment in Shadyside. The first time you come to the studio, you will fill out a health intake form and talk to your instructor about your goals. Then we'll show you around the studio, and introduce you to other instructors and clients.

Your session will last 55 minutes. The last five minutes of the hour are used to clean up, schedule, and pay for your session. If you like us (we're pretty sure you will!), you can use that time to buy a package and book your times with your instructor.

Studio Etiquette

We're pretty relaxed and friendly at the Pilates Body, but even we need to have some rules, so here goes...

Please keep your cell phones off. (Don't you deserve one hour of not being connected to the outside world?) If you are expecting an important call, please set your phone to vibrate and take the call outside in the hall.

Be aware of your volume of speech when a massage is in progress.

Keep your belongings in the client closet at the front of the studio.

At the end of your session, leave the equipment as you found it and clean any surfaces you used with the cleaning solution we provide.

Qualified Instructors

The Pilates Body is always looking for qualified instructors to become a part of our team. If you are comprehensively certified (or pursuing a comprehensive certification) and want to work for one of Pittsburgh's premier pilates and yoga studios, please email your resume to info@the-pilates-body.com and call us at 724.941.2411.
